We are looking for speakers, presenters and workshop moderators to cover a diverse range of topics that appeal to the spectrum of Transgender individuals, their families and friends. We had 600+ attendees last year--Female-to-Males, Male-to-Females, Spouses, Significant Others, Non-ops, Pre-ops, Post-ops, Educators, Doctors, Counselors, Social Workers, Lawyers and other professionals--whose ages ranged from 8 to 87.
Here are some of our new ideas for 2017:
- All workshops will be at the Sheraton: All the workshops and in-hotel activites will be conducted at the Sheraton Hotel this year.
- Mini-workshops: Have an idea for a short workshop but not sure you can fill an entire regular workshop slot for an hour and fifteen minutes? Mini-workshops are 30 minutes long and provide you an opportunity to [quickly] deliver some thoughts, discuss a few ideas, or share some techniques.
- Sunday morning workshops: We are entertaining the idea of offering workshops on Sunday morning. There is an opportunity for you to indicate on the workshop proposal form whether or not you want to be considered for Sunday.
The 'deadline' to submit is January 15th, 2016. However, we will start to select and schedule presenters starting in mid-December. We expect to have 80% of our workshop slots filled by mid-January. The remaining will be filled by February.
Regular workshops time slots are 1 hour and 15 minutes with 15 minutes of break time scheduled between workshops. Mini-workshops are 30 minutes long with 15 minutes of break time scheduled between each other. Please plan your workshop to be no longer than one hour to permit time for questions & answers. The Keystone Conference can provide a PC laptop, projector, cart, screen, and flip chart if needed. We also have Mac cables for the projectors if you have an Apple platform, too. Nevertheless, it is best to bring your connecting cables as well if you have them.
Our goal is to celebrate our unique gender diversity and to show how we can live peacefully and fully in our Transgender lives. If you are interested in presenting at the 2017 Keystone Conference, please sign-in first. From the myConference Page, you can then submit a workshop proposal.
